	We recognize that the beaches and waterfront of the island are the Town's most important natural resources, always fragile, changing, and in need of protective regulation. We see our tasks as ways to educate the public to a high regard for the beauty and vitality of our shorelines and to assure respect and cooperation between public and private entities through the Beach Management Plan's execution.
