SHINE (Serving the Health Information Needs of Elders) We have a certified volunteer counselor who assist Massachusetts seniors with access to unbiased information, counseling and assistance with health insurance and drug benefit options. The will help with questions about your insurance benefits, provide referral for reduced drug programs and answer questions considering coverage with Medex, Medicare D options, etc. Our island Shine volunteer is Phil Gallagher. Please call the Saltmarsh Center at 508-228-4490 to arrange an appointment. Phil Gallagher is at the Saltmarsh every Thursday from 1 - 4 p.m. Information may also be provided by Ann Burchell, who may be reached at 1-800-334-9999 or 1-508-394-9326.

Support Group - Grief and Life Choices Discussions - Due to a lack of funding counseling services are only available through the Nantucket Behavioral Health Service (508-228-2689).
Veteran's Services - Nantucket Veteran's Agent, Ralph Hardy, is available Thursday mornings from 8:30-12:15 at the VFW Center located at 22 New South Road. Mr. Hardy is available by phone at 508-325-5332 or by email at email@example.com. The Veterans Crisis Line (1-800-273-8255, Press 1) is available 24/7/365 to provide confidential counseling and referals for veterans and their families. This is an integrated national outreach effort to increase awareness and use of the Veterans Crisis Line, support and promote broader VA suicide prevention efforts and promote help-seeking behaviors among Veterans at risk of suicide and other mental health problems.
