WHO ARE WE?
OUR ISLAND HOME is a 45-bed Skilled Nursing Facility located on the “Creeks”, (harbor side) on the Island of Nantucket. Our Resident population is diverse in not only heritage but origin of location. You will find men and women whose family roots go deep into Nantucket soil and those who have come to join family or are recent “transplants” who came to visit and chose to stay.
We provide 24 hour nursing care for those people who can no longer safely remain at home.
WHO ARE OUR CAREGIVERS?
Our care giving team is as diverse as our Residents. You will find an international staff whose primary goal is to care for those entrusted to us.
VISION STATEMENT
Our Island Home is the provider of care for Residents of Nantucket needing long term nursing care. OIH meets the needs of the Nantucket Community through inpatient services, geriatric related education and outreach programming.
GOAL & OBJECTIVE
Our goal is to continue to provide the highest quality of care for our Residents, providing services necessary for the safety and well being of our elders.
Our objective is to provide this service within the structure of the regulatory definitions per the governing agencies and within the fiscal constraints per our budget projections.

Personalized Food Service and Dietician Service
Occupational, Speech and Physical Therapy
Recreation & Activities
Skilled Nursing Care, including outstanding wound prevention
Social Work & Geri psychiatry Services
COME VISIT US
Our Island Home Residents participate in many community activities, including the Daffodil Parade, Boston Pops Concert, Christmas Stroll and Tree Decorating, Rotary Mother’s Day Breakfast and more. You may have seen us out and about in our Big Blue Bus or our Sleek White Coach. You are welcome to visit us at our home, as well.. OUR ISLAND HOME IS A DEPARTMENT OF THE TOWN OF NANTUCKET AND RECEIVES FUNDING FROM PRIVATE REVENUES, REIMBURSEMENT FROM MEDICAID, MEDICARE, AND SUBSIDY FROM THE TOWN.
