Music for Memories
Our Island Home currently participates in the Music for Memories concept by providing IPods(c) to residents with Alzheimer or other related Dementia with personalized music to provide our residents with familiar music that serves to help invoke memories, improve mental functioning, and improve overall quality of life. This has been amazing process to watch and very successful. To read more about this please visit the Music and Memories website.
Rehabilitation Program
Our rehabilitation program is offered 7 days a week. Therapy is offered under our Restorative Nursing Program or though skilled therapist (physical, occupational, and speech) that have expertise in both therapy evaluation and treatment.
With a physician prescribed order; a treatment plan is developed that suits each individual’s needs. Our rehab services are designed to maintain each individual’s level of functioning, independence, or assist them in reaching their highest level of functioning as well as to assist in the transition from post acute care to home.
Volunteering
Our Island Home has a very strong and active volunteer program through the Activities department. Currently we have at least 25 members of the community who offer their time! We encourage anyone interested to bring their skills, talents or just time to Our Island Home by becoming a member of our volunteer team and Our Island Home family.
