NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT HEARING:

Vineyard Wind LLC has filed three related petitions with the Energy Facilities Siting Board (“Siting Board”) and the Department of Public Utilities in connection with the Company’s proposal to construct and operate a new onshore and offshore electric transmission line, a new substation, and other electric equipment  necessary  to  connect  its  planned  offshore  wind  turbine  array  to  the  regional  electric grid. The offshore portion  of  the  transmission  line  would  pass  through  state  waters  in  the  towns  of Barnstable, Edgartown, Mashpee, and Nantucket, Massachusetts and make landfall in Barnstable.  The onshore portion of the transmission line and the new substation would be located entirely in the Town of Barnstable. The Siting Board will be reviewing the onshore portion of the transmission line, and the offshore portion of the transmission line in state waters.

The legal notice describes the Company’s Primary Route for the transmission line, as well as alternative routes the Company has proposed, also available on    the    Company’s    website    at https://www.parkcitywind.com/permitting .

The Siting Board is a state agency that will determine whether the proposed transmission project can be constructed and whether the Company’s requested zoning exemptions will be approved.  The Siting Board will conduct a public comment hearing using Zoom video conferencing at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2020.  Attendees can join by clicking (or entering) the following link: https://zoom.us/j/94389141158 from a computer, smartphone, or tablet.

Persons and groups affected by the Company’s petitions who wish to be involved in the Siting Board’s review process  may  request  to  participate  as  either  intervenors  or  limited  participants.    Such  requests  must  meet  the criteria outlined in the attached Notice.  The deadline to make such a request is 5:00 p.m. on October 28,2020.The process for making a request to participate is explained in the Notice.  Questions concerning participation will also be answered at the public comment hearing.  Copies     of     the     Company’s     petitions     are     available     online     at https://eeaonline.eea.state.ma.us/DPU/Fileroom/dockets/bynumber/EFSB20-01 and at Vineyard Wind’s website at: https://www.parkcitywind.com/permitting.
