Ratings and Surveys

The Executive Office of Health and Human Services is responsible for administering the state’s MassHealth program and recently implemented an infection control audit related to COVID-19 across all Massachusetts licensed nursing facilities. This audit identified 28 competencies surrounding infection control protocol and practices that nursing homes were expected to implement within their facilities and adhere to daily.

On May 14th, Our Island Home had their first of many random audits addressing their compliance to these competencies. Each of the 28 competencies are valued at one point each, and facilities that receive a score of 24 or more are determined to be “in adherence”. We are happy to announce that Our Island Home received a score of 27 out of 28 competencies on their first audit! The one missed competency relates to a minor equipment item and is currently being addressed.

Thank you to all staff for their hard work and dedication to making Our Island Home as safe as possible!

Public Health Survey

Our Department of Public Health Survey for the past 3 years is also detailed through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rating system. We are happy to provide and answer any questions you may have. Below are our most recent surveys.

A copy of our most recent survey is posted on the bulletin board at Our Island Home.
