Island Ambassador High School Internship

The Department of Culture and Tourism is thrilled to launch a new internship for Nantucket High School Students. The Island Ambassador Internship Program aims to help students attain real-world leadership skills such as public speaking, community service, and interviewing and hospitality skills. In addition, it will give participants insight into how local government and businesses work together to support Nantucket’s cultural and tourist economies.

Interns will participate in five workshops with local leaders and business professionals. Interns will also volunteer as Nantucket Island Ambassadors, sharing important information about public services and directions, as well as their love and enthusiasm for Nantucket, with visitors during the summer season and holiday and peak weekends including Daffodil Festival, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Christmas Stroll.

The internship program qualifies for the Nantucket High School community service graduation requirement and will be well suited for those interested in community leadership and hospitality careers.

For more information or to apply to be a Nantucket Ambassador Intern please contact Carlisle Jensen, intern coordinator, at 508-325-4166 or via email.
