Nantucket Planning and Economic Development Commission will initiate a 21-day public review & comment period for an amendment to the 2016 Nantucket Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) concerning air quality conformity determinations beginning 07/28/2018.
The NP&EDC will hold a public meeting to solicit comments on August 20, 2018 at 6:00PM in the Community Room at 4 Fairgrounds Road, Nantucket, Massachusetts. This public review period will conclude on August 20, 2018. This amendment is concerning air quality conformity determinations. The amendment states that emission levels from transportation projects contained in the 2016 Regional Transportation Plans and 2019–2023 Transportation Improvement Program (TIPs) demonstrate conformity with the SIP, the Clean Air Act, and the EPA conformity regulations (40 CFR part 51). The Nantucket RTP and TIP are Transportation Planning Program documents approved by the NP&EDC. The RTP is updated every four years and is a comprehensive inventory and assessment of all modes of transportation within the Nantucket region, identifying all transportation facilities and including the needs for improvement. The TIP is approved annually and lists all federally funded road and bridge and all transit projects in Nantucket to be funded through the year 2023. For further information, or to make comment within the 21-day comment period, please contact NP&EDC Transportation Planner Mike Burns at (508) 228-7238, or email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Written comments must be submitted by 4:00PM August 20, 2018 to: NP&EDC, 2 Fairgrounds Road, Nantucket, MA 02554.
