DRAFT Hazard Mitigation Plan for Nantucket Update

After 18 months of hard work, the Town of Nantucket’s Hazard Mitigation Plan update has been submitted to MEMA (Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency) and FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) for review and approval.

The update is scheduled for a formal adoption by the Select Board & NP&EDC in a joint meeting in February 2019. After local adoption, FEMA will provide their formal approval. The approved plan will confirm the Town of Nantucket’s eligibility to apply for Mitigation grants administered by FEMA. Upon final approval by FEMA, a copy of the Final Plan will be available for the public’s use and download.

This update has been a successful community effort by the Town’s Hazard Mitigation Plan Update Team, our consultants Milone & MacBroom, and members of the public!
