The Town is requesting proposals for human services to be provided in FY 23 by private nonprofits in order to meet demonstrated needs of Nantucket residents.
The Select Board has made a finding that provision of certain identified human services by private non-profits serves the public purpose to ensure the health and safety of Nantucket residents.
These services include the following: Nutrition (e.g. food pantry, meals on wheels, food stamps); Shelter (e.g. affordable safe housing, rental assistance, emergency aid); Utilities (e.g. fuel assistance, other utilities programs); Access to health care and disease prevention and management; mental health care and dental care. This includes both direct services and assistance in enrollment for insurance and other programs which provide access including education programs that foster self-sufficiency. Additional services could include child and elder day care; domestic violence prevention, education and treatment; support and education for persons and families with developmental challenges; access to legal services; drug and alcohol prevention and treatment.
Instructions for proposals will be available commencing Friday, September 24, 2021 through the Human Services Office.

Proposals must be returned to the Human Services Office, electronically, by Monday October 26, 2021. Additionally, the Human Services Office must receive ten (10) hard copies of the proposal by the end of the work day, Wednesday, October 27, 2021.
